What are some local holidays I should know about?

A lot of businesses may close/have reduced hours on a Sunday however this is becoming more uncommon now. Public transport is largely unaffected.

School holidays change by area but the common rule of thumb is children will have a six week Summer break between July and September. Most attractions and tourist destinations will be busier in those months.
